Kachikwu Reveals Chat With Buhari
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu said on Friday that the controversy between him and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr Maikanti Baru has been resolved after President Buhari has intervened.
He said that he met with the president and was advised to find a peaceful way of working together with Baru for the progress of the country.
Kachikwu said that his memo to Mr President had been misunderstood by many as to mean allegation of fraud instead of governance.
He said that the issue on ground is actually about lapses in the way things are done in government but not an allegation of fraud as being reported in the media.
He said, “Mr President has urged the two of us to find ways of working together to remove doubt and rift.”
He described Buhari as a decent man whose ultimate aim is to leave a legacy of posterity for this country.
Urging Nigerians not to label Buhari as a corrupt leader, Kachikwu said that he had since moved on with his work and would work with Baru to lift the country oil and gas sector.
