Kano Crowd Motivates Buhari For Second Term
Moved by the mammoth crowd that welcomed him to the palace of the Emir of Kano on Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari said he is sure of winning the 2019 presidential election.
Though he had not officially declared his intention to run, the president said that with the heads of people that received him during his visit to the ancient city, “If an election is conducted now, I know I will win.”
Buhari who was accompanied by the State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje stated that the present government would continue with its people-oriented policies.
Buhari commended the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi for the warm reception, adding that the emirate had always supported him throughout his political career.
He urged the Kano residents to be more patient with the Federal Government, adding that so many things had gone wrong in the hands of past governments and had to be restructured before things would be better.
However, the spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said that the crowd that received Buhari in Kano was not an indication of success, saying by 2019, the president would see the true colour of electorate.
He said that the present government would be voted out because it had not done anything to warrant the second term.
He said, “It is almost three years now, this government has been in the blame game. How many projects has it commissioned since this government assumed office?”
