Lagos Fiesta Begins Across The Metropolis
The one-week Lagos Fiesta commenced on Sunday as sponsors deployed musical, recreational and security equipment across five locations in the metropolis to celebrate the end of the year and usher in a New Year.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Strategy on Saturday said residents and visitors on Lagos Island, Ikorodu, Badagry, Epe, and Ikeja, Ikorodu, would witness one of the scintillating musical entertainment during the period.
According to the statement, the event will take eight days and start 12pm to end 12am every day with little children taking the centre stage during the days and adults coming around in the nights.
Lagos State Government has since provided adequate security measures as the state police command as deployed more policemen to provide protection for the teeming populace of fun seekers.
The state Traffic Management Authority has also increased the number of its officials on the road to manage traffic, especially now that there are long queues at filling stations.
“It is going to be fun filled. It is going to be bigger this time around as we enjoin Lagosians to join us to usher in brand New Year,” the statement said.
