Do They Have Replacement For Oshiomhole?
ElevateNews takes a look at the noise to sack Oshiomhole.
By Tuesday, the National Executive Council of the All Progressives Congress should be able to decide the fate of its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole whether to continue in office or boot him out.
Oshiomhole escaped being removed through litigation about two weeks ago and since then he has been sweating and strategising to keep his seat.
It is clear that Oshiomhole knows those who want him out of the office. They are some APC governors and a minister, he said at a press conference.
This happened after a Federal High Court, Kano reversed the order of an Abuja court that earlier sacked Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole is not indispensable but who will succeed him if eventually his adversaries success in removing him.
Recalled that prior to the removal of the former National Chairman of the party, Chief Odigie-Oyegun, the name of his successor was already flying around.
The governors then wanted their outgoing colleague, Oshiomhole to take over and it happened exactly the way they planned it.
Of course, Oshiomhole’s chairmanship happened with the blessings of the National Leader of the Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari
The gang up against Oshiomhole today by his former colleagues has failed to throw up a successor.
It suffices to say that the ultimate plan to remove Oshiomole is not about building a strong APC but about removing those that can stop their own ambition.
No doubt, the latest fraternity between the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and his counterpart for Ekiti State is based practically on personal agenda.
One of the agendas is to stop Oshiomhole, thereby stopping the ambition of Tinubu from running for the presidency.
Fayemi and El-Rufai are of the views that only Oshiomhole can help Tinubu and his cronies from realising their ambitions and he is ready to do the bidding of the former Governor of Lagos State.
Fayemi has become so close to El-Rufai that both had to attend the special reception organised by the Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare to mark the 60 birthday of the Kaduna governor in Lagos.
Bakare is the number one opponent of Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
He was also in the same CPC with El-Rufai. There is no doubt that he has a great influence on both Buhari and El-Rufai. He will do anything to work against Tinubu.
And if Tinubu will not run, this new bloc that encompasses some of the former Action Congress of Nigeria members and CPC members will be standing against whosoever candidate that may emerge from Tinubu’s political dynasty.
As at today, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo could be a joker but yet this new bloc will never want him because he is Tinubu’s stooge.
The members of this new bloc are relying so much on their intellectual capacity, which to me does not always work in Nigeria politics.
Whosoever that may succeed Oshiomhole may have passed through Tinubu in one way or the other and if he has not, there is the tendency that he could be bought over by the Jagaban of Borgu.
