Lead By Example, Atiku Tells Buhari
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to lead by example instead of pointing the attention of the world to the suffering of minority people.
He said this while reacting to President Buhar’s presentation at the 72nd United Nations General Assembly UNGA where he spoke on the rights of the minorities Myanmar.
Atiku who hailed Buhari’s speech particularly his advocacy for the rights of minorities in Myanmar, reminded the president the common saying that “Charity begins at home.”
The former vice president called on Buhari in a statement by his Media Office that the president should set the pace for the world to see.
“It is also right that Nigeria, through President Buhari, drew the UN’s attention to the sufferings of Myanmar’s Rohingya people, cited by the UN as perhaps the world’s most persecuted minorities.
While commending Buhari for speaking the truth at the UNGA, Atiku reminded him that all minority groups suffer worldwide, including Nigeria.
“I am convinced Nigeria will also provide the world a good example in the way we treat our minority groups,” Atiku said.
