Mercy Aigbe’s: Court Remands Husband Gentry
Magistrate’s Court 1 sitting at Ogba, Ikeja has remanded, Mr. Lanre Gentry husband of the Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, in prison for assault on his wife.
The court said that Gentry would remain in the custody until he is able to meet his bail Conditions in the sum of N500, 000, two sureties who reside in Lagos with landed property.
Gentry was facing three-count charge, bordering on unlawful beating of his wife, behaving in a disorderly manner and constitution of nuisance in the public, which breach the state Criminal Law, 2011.
The wife, Aigbe had taken Gentry’s case before Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, DSVRT who is currently prosecuting the husband.
During the court proceeding yesterday, 9th of May, the trial magistrate, Mrs. Y. O. Aje-Afunwa, granted the defendant N500,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court, however adjourned the case to July 12 and warned the husband not to get closer to the wife and the tw0 children in her custody.
Meanwhile the CT Scan carried out on the actress showed that she had sustained serious fracture in the bone of her nasal cavity called the Medial wall.
She was at St. Solomon Health Care Limited, where the x-ray revealed that a small part of her skull around the medial wall had been fractured due to the beating.
A Consultant Radiologist for the hospital, Dr. G. A. Olaniyi signed the medical report, which showed how dastard the woman had beating to the extent that she broke her skull.
