Militants Threaten To Blow Off Oil Facilities
The Niger Delta militant group, the URHOBO Liberation Force, ULF, has given the Federal Government two weeks to release funds for the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE, Effurun, Delta State as appropriated in the 2018 budget or face the destruction of oil pipeline and facilities.
The GOC, Operations and GOC, Defence, “General” Orubu Ekpe and “General” Mike Agbalele respectively, said in a statement made available to our correspondent that the called on the Federal Government to make adequate budgetary provision for the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) as stated in the Act establishing the university and accented to by the President Muhammadu Buhari on the 17th October 2017.
“If not, the oil and gas facilities in Urhobo land will be blown off,” the statement read.
The liberation force said that it would be ready to throw the country into another recession by blowing off the oil and gas facilities, which had been the major source of income for Nigeria.
The militant group asserted: “The Urhobo nation is the fifth largest ethnic nationality in Nigeria, very rich with oil and gas. It has been marginalized in the administration of President Buhari.
