N15bn Ikoyi Money: Amaechi Seeks N2bn Compensation From Fani-Kayode

The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi has demanded for N2 billion compensation from the former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode for alleging him to be the owner of the N13 billion discovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC at Ikoyi apartment last week.

The minister also asked for compensation from the Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose on Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka over allegation of infidelity.

Amaechi requested for these compensations through his lawyer as he gave the duo a seven-day-ultimatum to tender apology and pay the compensation.

The minister was accused of dating the Ebonylife TV Founder, Mosunmola Abudu while Fani-Kayode had alleged Mr. Amaechi of being the owner of the house where the cash was stashed.

The minister said that he had no house in Lagos and that the allegation from Fani-Kayode and Olayinka was unfounded and would be challenged at the court.

He also denied having affairs with MO Abudu in the suit he was about to file at the High Court Lagos.

Following the allegation, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike had laid claim to the funds, saying it belonged to the state government.

His argument was that the stashed fund was the remains of the money spent by the All Progressives Party, APC during the 2015 presidential election.

And because much of the funds had allegedly come from Rivers State, Wike concluded that it belonged to the state government.

However, the National Intelligence Agency had come out to say that the money belonged to it.
The funds had been forfeited to the Federal Government.
