Nigeria News – NBTE Approves Upgrading Of Oyo State College Of Agriculture And Technology To Polytechnic
The National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, has approved the upgrading of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora to a polytechnic.
In addition to the existing programmes, Professor Gbemiga Adewale, Provost of the institution who announced the approval, said the institution would now run six additional programmes.
Provost of the institution, in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday through Mrs Opeyemi Olawore, the institution’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Ibadan, the state capital, commended the NBTE for the approval.
He stated, “Following the approval, the institution can now run National Diploma programmes in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, Horticultural Technology as well as Office Technology and Management”.
Through accesses to TETFUND for staff training and infrastructural facilities, Provost of the institution disclosed that the new status would further bring infrastructural and human capital development to the college.
