Lagos Police Arrest Fake Soldier For Hijacking Truck Laden With Vegetable Oil

Two policemen, a fake soldier and two others have been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly hijacking a vegetable oil laden truck in Epe area of the state.

The suspects were paraded on Wednesday by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal.

According to the command, the suspects are notorious highway robbers, known for intercepting and diverting lorries.

Meanwhile, the reforms in the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad have led to the setup of a committee to decongest the robbery squad’s detention facilities across the country.

The committee’s formation follows a directive by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

The Southwest monitoring committee on the reform of the Special anti-robbery squad on Monday inspected the anti-robbery squad’s headquarters in Abeokuta and reviewed case files of all the suspects in detention.

The head of the monitoring committee said all civil cases will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
