Nigerians Are Hungry, Sanusi, Sulu-Gambari Tell FG
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi has called on the Federal Government to be more sensitive to the plights of the citizens, saying many Nigerians are hungry and cannot afford high cost of commodities in the market.
He said this in his Eid-el-kabir message in Kano on Friday as he prayed that the government economic diversification to agriculture bring bumper harvest to the country.
Calling on government to look into the rising cost of living, Sanusi said that majority of the people are passing through serious hardship.
He said: “We are grateful to Almighty Allah for consistent rain. May it bring the end of high cost of food items.”
The emir spoke against hate speech as he advised Nigerians to detest rumour mongering but work in unity to improve the economic situation of the country.
On his part, Sulu-Gambari lamented that it was becoming very difficult for the masses to eat three times daily due to the exorbitant cost of food stuff.
He prayed for peace, unity and love for the country. He urged the citizens to embrace tranquility and live together irrespective of their ethnic and religious affiliation.
He asked God to continue to direct the nation’s leaders right so that the responsibility of moving the nation forward would be trouble-free for them.
