NPFL New Season Kicks Off
The new season of the Nigeria Professional League kicked of this weekend across different centres in the country and it served up exciting football for fans and followers of the local game.
They were some major talking points of matchday 1 in the new season with the first one being the first match of the season ending in a no contest as FC Ifeanyi Ubah, abandoned the Match Day 1 contest against Kano Pillars at the Kano stadium.
Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and LMC boss Shehu Dikko were in attendance at the Sani Abacha stadium to watch the first game of the season in the NPFL.
The players from the visiting team were said to be livid when their goal being over ruled by center referee Ajayi Foluso and one of their players sent off.
Gambo Mohammed had already put Pillars 1-0 up before the abrupt end of the match.
In other news, the defending champions Enugu Rangers, began the defence of their title with a 2-1 home defeat to Abia Warriors
