OAU Final Year Student Ayoola Ayorinde (A.K.A. AYbillion) Stabbed To Death

The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Ile-Ife, Osun State has announced the murder of a final year student, Ayoola Ayorinde.

The Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olanrewaju, said on Monday that the boy was stabbed to death by unknown gangsters last Wednesday.

Olanrewaju described the incident as gruesome, adding that the university authority condemned this and had contacted the police to investigate the matter to a reasonable conclusion.

According to reports gathered by our correspondent, Ayorinde was a final year student of Dramatic Arts.

He was coming from his project supervisor, Dr. Charles Uji at about 7:30 pm on Wednesday when two guys attacked him and stabbed him in the chest.

He was in the company of his brother who had come to write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination when the assailants waylaid them.

The younger brother ran from the scene, shouting for help but before people could come to their aids, the gangsters had killed Ayorinde.

“They also took his telephone handset and some money from his pocket,” a source said.

Though he was quickly rushed to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Ayorinde died shortly due to too much of blood loss.

It was learnt that the graduating student died a day to the submission of his final coursework as an undergraduate.

Speaking, the Head of Security, OAU Students’ Union, Seyi Iyiola, said that the hospital called him in the night to come and identify the corpse, adding, “This is wickedness of the highest order. He was killed in cold blood.”

He stated that the student union executive had since reported the case at the Moore Police Division, Ile-Ife for proper investigation.

When contacted on the telephone, the Osun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Sade Odoro, said the case had yet to be reported to the police.
