Obasanjo To Nigerians: If You Don’t Like Buhari, Wait for 2019 Election
Former president of the country, Olusegun Obasanjo, has called on Nigerians to stop praying for incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari’s death, but rather wait for the next elections in 2019 to vote him out if they don’t like him.
These statement were contained in a press release which was issued by his media aide on Friday in his home town Abeokuta.
The former president described those behind the rumoured death of Buhari as wicked, callous and treacherous.
Recall that president Buhari has been away on a 10 day vacation in the UK where he is supposed to undergo some sort of health checks and a number of Nigerians have insinuated that he has passed on.
They have likened the situation to that of another former president, Umaru Musa Yaradua, who passed on while he was out of the country and Nigerians were held to ransom on the news of his demise.
Obasanjo then further stated that Buhari needs the prayers and best wishes of Nigerians which will help ginger him to come back stronger and better.
Obasanjo also took a trip down memory lane as he stated that he himself has been a victim of such malicious rumors about his death when he was president.
Buhari is expected back in the country next week.
