Ogun Police Take Over MAPOLY
The Ogun State Police Command has deployed hundreds of policemen in Pansheke area of Abeokuta, the community where the Ogun State Polytechnic is situated.
This was as a result of students’ protest, which entered the second day on Wednesday. Recalled that the students injured a policeman on Tuesday during their rally to the state government office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
The students embarked on protest because they could not hold their semester examination due to the faceoff between their lecturers and the state government.
On Wednesday, our correspondent observed an army of policemen in Pansheke to prevent the students from causing any public damage.
Though the police presence did not stop the commercial activities in Pansheke, the students were kept away from the area.
Police vans were parked at strategic areas while the officers stood firm to forestall any criminal activity.
However, the state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun had said that the government would make the students pay for whatever public property they destroyed during their protest.
