Olisa Metuh obtains soft landing as court differs Bail conditions

EFFORTS by the restrained National Attention Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, to regain his freedom from jail safekeeping got an increase yesterday following the variation of his bond conditions by a Federal High Court. Especially, Justice Okon Abang sitting in Abuja reduced the bond terms, which it troubled Metuh on January 19.

In his ruling on Metuh’s application for the variant of his bond problems, Justice Abang, who provided the application partly, said the candidate would no longer be needed to produce 2 guaranties that need to have residential property limited to the Maitama District of Abuja.

While the bond sums of N400 million as well as other affixed problems stay, Metuh’s recommended sureties, who the court firmly insisted need to be resident in Abuja, could possibly now be owners of building with legitimate title papers “in any area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”.

The court, nevertheless, denied Metuh’s apply for looking for the elimination of the bail problem directing the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Sylvanus Tahir, to within 24 hours of being alerted, confirm the addresses of the recommended sureties and the certifications of occupancy of the residential property to be presented by them.
