Presentation of 2018 Budget To Be Determined By The Executive – Saraki
President of the Senate Bukola Saraki has said that the presentation of the 2018 appropriation bill will be determined by the executive but not the National Assembly.
He said that the Senate will be ready anytime the executive is ready to present the appropriation bill, adding, “The presentation of the 2018 appropriation bill, is in the hands of the executive but “we will receive it when they are ready.’’
Saraki said this shortly after the leadership of NASS had a special dinner with President Muhammadu on Tuesday.
He said that the dinner had afforded the legislature and the executive to interact as stakeholders in the development of the country.
According to him, since the president returned from a medical trip, the legislators have not been able to meet with him to welcome him back home and of course to create better ways of working together.
“The event is not just a meeting but to honour the invitation of the President to the National Assembly officers to interact with him since he returned from medical vacation.
He stated that in Buhari’s absence the NASS had done a lot to keep the country in peace and unity.
“There is need to thank the executive and also members of the NASS on their role in keeping the country stable,” he said.
