Presidency Lambasts Ezekwesili For Criticizing Buhari
The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu Presidency has told a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili to demonstrate a great sense of responsibility in the face of national security challenges posed by the IPOB.
Shehu said this while reacting to the statement credited to Ezekwesili that Buhari was acting like sectional leader.
According to Shehu, the action of the IPOB had provoked the soldiers to take up against it members, thereby inflicting pains on innocent citizens.
He called on the former minister to be mindful of her statement, which could jeopardise the effort of the government in maintaining peace and harmony in the southeast.
Shehu said that Kanu and his gangs had deliberately challenged the soldiers so that he could gain sympathy from the international community.
He said, “There is a deliberate sinister agenda by IPOB to provoke the soldiers into killing innocent people in retaliation so that Nnamdi Kanu would use the pictures of the victims for international propaganda by accusing the government of ethnic cleansing against the Igbo with the sole purpose of gaining sympathy.”
Recalled that Ezekwesili had called on the government to withdraw soldiers from Abia state.
Th Operation Python Dance 2 had been in the major cities of the state to curb the excesses of the IPOB members who now wear military uniform.
“The former minister must to stop being petty and should not be in support of propaganda designed to cause civil unrest in the country,” he said.
