President Muhammadu Buhari Cancels FEC Meeting
President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled the Federal Executive Council meeting slated to hold today.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
It said that the president would spend the period to receive the report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke.
The Federal Executive Council meeting is held every Wednesday and since the president went on medical vacation, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had been presiding over it.
Today’s meeting would have been the first to be chaired by Buhari since he returned from United Kingdom but he cancelled it.
The president had been operating from his official residence inside Aso Villa since he resume for work on Monday.
He sent a letter to the National Assembly from his residence to notify the lawmakers about his return and readiness to resume for work.
Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu said that the president was working from home because his office was under renovation.
He actually said that the president’s office had been taken over by rodents.
