Pro-Saraki Senators Move To Sheraton Hotel, Allege APC of Giving $1m To Impeach Senate President
After an impromptu plenary presided over by Senate President Bukola Saraki this morning, the pro-Saraki senators moved to Sheraton Hotel for another meeting.
At a news conference addressed by the group before leaving, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, representing Kwara South alleged that some senators of the All Progressives Congress had received $1 million to impeach Saraki.
He said that the plot to impeach Saraki had been concluded before President Muhammadu Buhari left for London and that the drama that happened at the National Assembly Complex was a step to implement the plan.
Also speaking in the same vein, Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West alleged that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress had collected the signatures of the senators to impeach Saraki.
He stated that the members of the Peoples Democratic Party would be waiting for them to prevent them from carrying out such illegality.
This happened a few hours that the Senate Majority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio resigned. Akpabio, a PDP stalwart would declare officially for APC during a mega rally in Akwa Ibom on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a crucial meeting is going on in Akwa Ibom between the state Governor, Emmanuel Udom and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
