Resident Doctors Embark On Indefinite Strike
Resident Doctors under the umbrella of the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD have embarked on nationwide strike.
This was contained in a statement signed by NARD President, Dr. Onyebueze John, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent this morning.
The statement read partly, “NARD has commenced indefinite strike nationwide after its NEC meeting where it resolved to go on industrial action early this morning.”
The statement noted that the executive of NARD met with the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole and his counterpart for Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige where the Federal Government made some promises.
However, NARD has rejected all the promissory, which according to it, is a government’s tactics to deceive workers over the years.
It said, “NARD proceeds on total and indefinite strike action until all items in her demand list for strike action are resolved by Government.”
