Return Of The Lion: Hyenas, Jackals Run Helter – skelter
Nigeria News on the return of President Muhammadu Buhari.
President Muhammadu Buhari landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja some minutes after 4pm on Saturday after staying over a hundred days in London.
He was received by the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo. The president’s body language suggested how delightful he was, to see Osinbajo.
Buhari held Osinbajo’s right hand warmly and held him by the shoulder with his left hand to show how dearly he had trusted him.
In a government infused by cabals, it was pleasant to see Buhari and Osinbajo in a warm embrace. The scene was fine on Saturday, except for those who had expected a cold reception but could not see one.
The price of loyalty at times is persecution and even death from those who detest sincerity between two partners.
The Hyenas and Jackals as described by the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari will always prefer to sideline the Tiger, Osinbajo in the absence of the Lion King, Buhari but their antics have continued to crumble.
The diplomatic community sees in Osinbajo competence and quality to lead even when Buhari is not around but the cabals in power are out to frustrate the acting president to the extent that some of them would boycott him and take case to London.
The hyenas and jackals are so pretentious but the steadfastness of the lion president and his tiger vice president, no doubt has stabilized the polity in the last two years of the present administration.
If not because both the president and acting president are loyal to each other, this house, called Nigeria would have crumbled.
It was the president who refused to attend to one of the hyenas when he visited him in London. Buhari turned his request down and asked him to go back to Abuja where the man in charge that is Osinbajo resides.
This singular action shows how loyal Buhari has been to Osinbajo. He would not allow any of the hyenas and jackals to subvert the relationship between him and his vice.
As a matter of fact, Buhari had taken the necessary constitutional step of transferring power to Osinbajo before jetting out of the country.
Before he did so, Buhari met with Osinbajo behind closed doors to seek his legal advice and loyalty, which he got from a professor of law, a Christian Cleric.
Both have been loyal and it goes beyond personal interests but for patriotism to keep at far distance the hyenas and jackals who are seeking to eat both the flesh and bones of a country in economic turmoil.
Hyenas and jackals are scavengers, they wait to eat the carcasses of a dead animal. They wait for the lions and tigers to hunt before they could eat.
The hyenas and jackals in Nigeria are corrupt leaders who are disturbed by the anti-corruption crusade of the lion king and his vice tiger.
Their prayers are for the lion and the tiger to clash so that they can have free day to loot the treasury but Buhari and Osinbajo have been acting smartly.
When Osinbajo visited Buhari in London, the hyenas and jackals were jittery. Some of them thought perhaps they might end up in the stomach of the lion king. Their loyalty is eye service. Their actions have revealed, they are still around though.
They knew how the Grass Cutter among them was sacked unceremoniously by the tiger even when the lion was not around.
“The Grass cutter”, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal who diverted about N300 million of the funds meant for the Internally Displaced People to his company’s account.
When told that the presidency had suspended him once upon a time, the grass cutter was quick to ask, “Who are the presidency? Perhaps he thought he was a member until he was showed the way out.
Now that Buhari had shown up, and Osinbajo prepared to give account, the hyenas and jackals run helter-skelter.
