Return To PDP Now, Atiku Urges Saraki, Amaechi, Others
Former Vice President Abubakar Atiku has urged President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Atiku made the call when he visited the PDP secretariat on Tuesday where he was received by the spokesman of the party’s National Caretaker Committee, Dayo Adeyeye.
Atiku defected from the All Progressives Congress ruling party last week to join his former party, PDP and made a courtesy visit to the secretariat on Tuesday.
He said, “This is the time for Senate President Bukola Saraki, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and all other members who defected to APC in 2014 to return home.”
He said that no other party had performed like PDP, calling on those who defected to return to build a stronger economy for the country.
Meanwhile, the party is set to hold its national convention on Saturday, December 9 in Abuja.
The national presidential candidates have been campaigning across the country to get members’ votes at the elective convention.
Saraki, Amaechi, Atiku and many other prominent members of the PDP defected to APC in 2014 but there are strong indications that many of them are not happy with the current situation of APC.
