Rohr Drops Five Players From Super Eagles World Cup Squad

The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr has dropped five of the players from the world cup squad.

Some of the players dropped took to their twitter handle this morning to disclose the news.

One of them is Moses Simeon who had an injury during a training session before the friendly match against DR Congo on Monday.

Others include a goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye, Uche Agbo, Stephen Eze and Junior Lokosa. Lokosa is the current highest goal scorer in the Nigeria League.

Nigeria will submit its final list to FFA on June 4, two days after the team must have played against England.

The Super Eagles are expected to meet President Muhammadu Buhari today to bid them farewell before departing to England for Saturday’s friendly.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Eagles were led to the Senate where the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki described them as a role model.

Saraki charged them to do well at the Mundial. He commended the efforts of the coaching crew and tasked them to bring out the best tactics for the team to excel in Russia.

Nigeria is in the same group with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.
