Seeking The Path To Right Leadership; Buhari Vs Atiku
Nigeria News takes a look at the chance of President Muhammadu Buhari in the coming election.
First, it looks to me that this nation has been cursed, judging by the sinking economy year after year.
The nation that has continually churned out incompetent, corrupt leaders whose agenda is about how to quickly enrich themselves and their allies.
Today, it is President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure, yesterday was a government of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan that looted the nation dry and by February, it may be the turn of Atiku Abubakar or the continuation of Buhari.
Whichever way, the nation groans in dilemma but God’s Mystery we do not know.
About four years ago, the songs rented the air, “Goodluck must go’ and chorused across the land for a Jonathan to quit.
The one who was tagged the “Drinker of Otuoke because of his love for strong wine had to climb down the stair, leaving the praise singers with the bottles of strong wines. The Goodluck frowned and would not listen to his own jewel of inestimable value, Queen Patience whose god lives under the Aso Rock.
Patience cried then, “Our oil for the white, our farm for the herders, so the she lamnented from the Rivers side, “There is God oo”.
In their time, they lived with impunity, shared the Commonwealth among their cronies, they threw their tongues beneath the thigh of a goddess, called Allison in exchange for a bloc of oil.
And when their days of perdition came, the herder trek not only in their farms, the cows drink their oil and hide their lords behind the bars.
And the rhythm changed. Let the Herdsmen rule, the Cattle rearer of Daura, the descendant of Uthman Dan Fodio. Nigerians sang about Buhari with hope that things would change.
But instead of creating a better country, the former soldiers run after the looters as the economy grows from bad to worse.
The Leopard of Daura, he roars gently but loud on loots and corruption. He is lurking across the country, seeking a second term that many are praying should not happen.
His ways we can’t understand, his competence is zero, yet we sing his praises because we are in dilemma.
From the southwest, a voice had roared, a daring Monster of Owu kingdom. A former king that has since become a kingmaker. He is backing another herder from the north. The one he once detested but who is now his beautiful bride.
Who do we choose now? Another herder, a former customs chief, who was never tried as a looter but proclaimed as one due to his boastful life.
But our God sits still, frowning at our stupidity. Men of colour but with just one coat. They recycle thieves, yet they jubilate and argue over who steal less.
We comprehend not the God’s mystery in the midst of all this when friends become foes and the political elites laugh at them. We will need prayers for the Avatar to wake.
In all of these, their wives move around seeking votes for their husbands. Titi Atiku, wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar visited the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III to seek support for her husband but the fiery monarch told her to forget it.
Aisha Buhari, wife of President Buhari took her own campaign to Ibadan. Represented by Wife of Vice President, Dr. Dolapo Osinbajo, asking People of Southwest to re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari in February elections.
She stated this at the Southwest women and Youth rally of the All Progressive Congress held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium. To her, voting Buhari/Osinbajo will ensure consolidation of the developmental programs and protection of the collective patrimony.
