Senator Sani Speaks on Recent Revolt By Nigerian Troops In Borno
Despite that normalcy has returned to Maiduguri Airport after troops of Nigerian Army have revolted, more reactions have been trailing the drama.
The soldiers shot repeatedly into the air about three days ago to protest against their new redeployment and lack of adequate welfare.
The soldiers barricaded the road to the airport, making many travellers to be stranded. They missed their flight as they ran for safety.
The angry soldiers said that the Federal Government had neglected them to die and rot while trying to defend the nation against terrorism.
Speaking on the action of the soldiers, Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central condemned the revolt by the troops.
He said, “Troops’ revolt as recently experienced and reported from Maiduguri are avoidable. We must adequately support and provide for those who offered to risk and sacrificed their lives to keep ours. Nothing is much for those holding down and putting down the monstrous insurgence.”
