Super Eagles Will Compound Argentina’s Woes on Tuesday-Kelechi Iheancho
Nigeria forward, Kelechi Iheancho has expressed optimism that the Super Eagles will beat Argentina when both teams meet on Tuesday at the ongoing World Cup.
He said that Nigeria would compound the woes of Argentina and send them packing from the tournament.
Iheanacho said, “I hope Lionel Messi stays quiet” as he did in the last two games against Croatia and Iceland so that the eagles could soar to the second round of the competition.
The Super Eagles defeated Iceland last Friday to rekindle their hope in the group D and would have to ensure that Argentina do not win on Tuesday.
Iceland will be playing Croatia on the same day. Croatia, the group leader will be resting some of their key players against Iceland.
Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel has criticized the Croats for planning to rest their key players, adding that such move could jeopardise the chance of Nigeria from qualifying for the second round.
Mikel who would be playing with arm guard had certified himself fit for the Argentina match. He sustained wrist injury in the match against Iceland on Friday.
