Super Eagles’ll Surprise Pessimists In Russia
The Nigeria senior football national team, the Super Eagles will surprise doubters in the 2018 Russia Fifa World Cup.
The Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Seyi Akinwunmi said this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent.
He said, “The team comprises young and talented players that are disciplined and ready to soar.”
The Super Eagles had qualified thrice for the second round of the world cup in their fight-time-outing and in this sixth outing, there is a lot of pessimism about the team’s performance.
Football fans believe that it will be difficult for Nigeria to scale through the preliminaries that have the likes of Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in the same group with it.
Croatia has one of the best midfielders in the world while Argentina will be parading some of the world football stars, including five-time Balon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi.
Iceland has a great team with compactness and physical ability. The team is tagged “Giant killer”.
But to Akinwunmi, the Nigeria lads are not the pushover and will be ready to face any challenges as they go to the world cup in June.
Nigeria played Poland and Serbia during the international friendlies. The Super Eagles beat Poland by a lone goal and lost to Serbia by 0-2.
