They Still Seek God At COZA
Nigeria News takes a look at the return of COZA Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo to the pulpit after rape allegation against him.
Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo is back. He returned to the Pulpit on Sunday and preached to a large congregation of Christians who attended the service.
Fatoyinbo was alleged to have raped one Busola Dakolo, the wife of the popular singer, Timi Dakolo about 20 years ago.
The Abuja pastor had to temporarily withdraw himself from the church while the noise subsided. The police never invited him to hear his own side of the story.
However, the police invited the Dakolos, which of course led to another uproar among the social media trolls that justice might be perverse in this case.
The Christian Association of Nigeria is silent about the COZA issue now. Unless there is noise tomorrow over Fatoyinbo’s return after weeks of self
The former Punch and Sunday Punch titles, Mr Martin Ayankola and Mrs Deji-Folutile were sacked over this matter.
As the scripture puts it, “If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, and all things have become new.”
It is believed that Fatoyinbo, a former cult member and defiler, according to the various unsubstantiated reports has since become a believer and pastor.
He was a new creature until when Dakolos denied him of his claim of being pious. Has Fatoyinbo repented or he is just being remorseful? O
Is the allegation against him truthful or a bring him down strategy by those who have accused him?
Because believers still seek God at COZA. Except that the Dakolos take up their own case or the civil society group helps to prosecute the rape case, the matter will be left in the hands of God.
But our God is not a headmaster who dangles cane to punish sinners for every sin. He loves repentant Christian but because He is a jealous God, He also visits the sin of a father on the sons to the fourth generation.
Like King David who killed Uriah and married Bathsheba, God forgave but also visited the sins on David’s children.
David’s children tormented and sought his life while
As much as God will not spare the sinner, the scripture makes it clear that blessed are those whom God had not counted their sins.
What if Fatoyinbo has been forgiven by God while his punishment is postponed and visited on his fourth generation, then Dakolos would have not only cried in vain but lost the battle for God, the ultimate judge.
In this case, only God is the ultimate judge, even now that COZA members have refused to leave the church and their pastor, Fatoyinbo despite the allegation.
The police will have no right to close the church down unless there is a court order to do so and cannot stop worshippers from attending services at COZA.
There are hundreds of COZA members who have been so engrossed with the teaching of Fatoyinbo just as Busola was in the past and would not leave the place.
