Time To Pray For The First Family, Muhammadu Buharis
Nigeria News take a look at the reactions of people to the biking accident by Yusuf Buhari
Leaders bear heavy burdens and most times the weight on their necks do not allow them to protect their immediate family. They are more concerned about national policies and values to drive the nation.
Their position exposes their limitation as they strive to create a better country. Their courage is questioned and their loyalty put to test. They are the torch bearer in the struggle for political and economic freedom.
The late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo was in prison when the news of the death of his first and promising lawyer son, Segun hit him.
Awolowo showed exceptional courage. He spent the whole night editing some documents to defend some of his allies who were also in the prison with him. He never showed sign of bereavement but shouldered the responsibility to free those who lived.
Such is the burden of a true leader. Even at that, their adversaries make a mockery of them over the death of their beloved ones.
Late October, Mr Jide Tinubu the first son of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu died of cardiac arrest in Lagos. Tinubu quickly travelled out of the country to stay with the children and the wife of the deceased.
He had shouldered the great national responsibility to the detriment of his children most times. May God not let us bury any of our children.
However, some adversaries rejoice over the death of their political opponents and it is sad that some Nigerians have taken politics too far.
It must be noted that President Muhammadu Buhari is a human being and can err. The president has just come out of severe illness that took him out of the country for more than three months on the medical trips.
During his period on a sick bed, Buhari was criticized for refusing to disclose his illness. As a matter of fact, a popular governor from the southwest announced that the president was dead but today Buhari lives.
The president was abused, cursed and labelled as an error by many bloggers on the social media, yet he regained his strength to lead the country out of economic recession. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but God will deliver him out of them all, the Bible says.
On Wednesday, Yusuf Buhari, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari had biking accident while riding at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He broke his limb and fractured his head. He was rushed to the Aso Rock Clinic but it sounded unbelievable that some Nigerians took to social media platform to rejoice over this accident.
Some queried the price of a power bike instead of saying a little prayer for the first family. How did Nigeria get to this state where values are being treated with disdain?
Instead of thanking God for sparing the life of Yusuf Buhari, many took to the social media platform to wish him dead, why? Because he is the son of the president.
It is time Nigerians begin to value life over money. It is time Nigerians begin to pray fervently for their leaders. It is time Nigerians pray for President Buhari and his immediate family.
