Tinubu, Jonathan In War of Words
Former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and former President Goodluck Jonathan have been on each other’s neck in the last 24 hours.
Tinubu had described Jonathan’s government as highly corrupt, saying that So much money grew feet and ran away faster than Usain Bolt.
Tinubu added that Jonathan’s administration won a gold medal in corruption and that Boko Haram would have taken over the country if the former president had been re-elected.
In a swift response by Jonathan, the former president said that truth had departed Tinubu faster than Usain Bolt and that the record of his administration showed that the present regime of President Muhammadu Buhari is more corrupt.
Speaking through his former media aide, Reno Omokri, said, “According to Transparency International, the present regime is more corrupt than Jonathan’s administration.”
He said that events had shown that the present administration was aiding and abetting corrupt officials.
He cited the recent reinstatement of the former Chairman of the Presidential Task Team on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina by the present administration.
He said, “Maina was sacked by Jonathan administration over N2 billion pension fraud but he was reinstated and promoted by the current administration.”
Meanwhile, President Buhari had since ordered the sack of Maina.
