TRUMP-KIM SUMMIT: FG Commends Both Leaders
The Federal Government of Nigeria has congratulated the President of North Korea Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump of the United States of America on the historic achievement made at the “Kim and Trump Summit,” held on Tuesday in Singapore.
A statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tope Elias-Fatile on Tuesday says the success of the historic Summit is a demonstration of commitment by the relevant parties towards de-escalation of tension in the Korean Peninsula.
The statement added the meeting was a consolidation of the earlier achievement made during the Inter-Korean Summit of 27th April 2018.
The Federal government commended the bold step taken by North Korea to dismantle the nuclear launch site as an indication of its determination to this peace process.
The two leaders met for the first time since Trump became US President. One of the key issues discussed during their meeting is security and how to douse the tension on the scary nuclear power.
The meeting, which happened in Singapore was expected to bring a peace accord between the two leaders who had stayed most of the time on accusation and counter-accusation.
