Trump To Send American Farmers To Nigeria
President Donald Trump has agreed to send American farmers to develop Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The Ogun State Governor, Mr Ibikunle Amosun said this, adding that the US government is more than ready to assist Nigeria in the area of security and agriculture.
Amosun said that the bilateral meeting between Buhari and Trump was very fruitful and well prepared for by the American government.
He said that though there is always a room for improvement, the US government had shown that it was following Nigeria’s development under Buhari’s administration and was ready to help.
Amosun noted that not only would the US government intervene in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, Trump had promised to provide a subsidy for American farmers who would be coming to Nigeria to make things easy for them.
Besides agriculture, the United States said that it would provide expertise for the operation of the fighter jets it sold to Nigeria.
Trump earlier said that Nigeria had reputation for corruption but the present government, being led by Buhari, had done a lot to curb corruption in Nigeria.
However, the American president urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to find a lasting solution to the incessant killings of innocent people by herdsmen and Boko Haram.
