Vice Principal Suspended For Impregnating JSS 3 Pupil
A Vice Principal in a public school, Minna, Niger State, Malam Mohammed Mohammed has been suspended by the state Government for impregnating a JSS three pupil, Miss Faith Danjuma.
The Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education, Alhaji Yahaya Garba said this, adding that the report of the two investigative panel set up by the authorities recommended that the accused be suspended and put on half salary pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Garba said that when the ministry learnt about the case on March 28, it set up a panel in the school headed by another Vice Principal, Mrs Zainab Kolo and another investigate committee at the board level, headed by Mrs Eunice Gana.
He stated that both panels agreed that the suspected vice principal be transferred from that school and put on half salary.
Garba stated that the accused vice principal had since confessed to have impregnated the girl and would be responsible to take care of the baby and the mother.
“That Faith is seven weeks and six days pregnant as at the time of the findings and is expected to deliver Nov. 09, and that the accused vice principal was responsible for the pregnancy.”
Garba stated that the recommendation had since been forwarded to the state Civil Service Commission to effect the change in salary pending the termination of the investigation.
