President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom not to attend the presidential debate organised for candidates vying for the highest office in Nigeria in the 2019 election.
On Saturday, the party made the appeal, on the party’s verified Twitter handle, in a post by Ade Omole, its leader.
Remember that the Nigeria Election Debate Group, NEDG, had fixed next year January 19 for a debate among five (5) selected presidential candidates including President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC UK branch said the President Buhari should consider a townhall session with the people rather than a presidential debate in view of the outcome of last night’s debate among vice-presidential candidates from five selected
The tweet reads: “Dear President Muhammadu Buhari, we appeal to you NOT to attend the presidential debate in view of the lecturing witnessed tonight (Friday).
“Please, consider a townhall session. Despite the antics, Prof. Osinbajo tutored the opposition candidates on nation-building. Thank you.”
