Why Asking For Kyari’s Head?
Nigeria News look at a character of President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari over the issue of cabal inside Aso Rock.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari has been in the news for some reasons in the last few days.
His character in the presidency is been questioned, especially since President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria after about 103 days of medicals in the United Kingdom.
He is being painted as the chief of cabals standing against the amorous relationship between the president and the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Investigation revealed that as CoS, Kyari is supposed to keep cash imprest to carry out some assignments. His office is entitled to the sum of N200 million monthly.
According to a source, the CoS is not expected to account for how he spent the money.
However, Kyari refused to accept such money and had failed to throw cash around. This, according to findings has infuriated some people and in order to force Kyari to give out some cash, had decided to smear him.
Another allegation is that Kyari has been standing between Buhari and Osinbajo by ensuring that the two do not have close relationship so that all his antics to control the government with some other elements would not be revealed.
It was gathered that through Kyari’s instructions, some of which were not known to Buhari, some members of the cabinet had sidelined Osinbajo.
Truly, the vice president has been silent since Buhari’s return except when he presented the report of investigation of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ola Oke.
Both would have met at the Federal Executive Council meeting last Wednesday but the president cancelled the meeting.
There is no doubt that cabals exist at the presidency but President Buhari has shown high sense of leadership by making sure he relates with Osinbajo without suspicion.
Even if he suspects Osinbajo, his body language since he arrived the country has not shown he is nursing any grievance against the vice president.
It is expected that some of the politicians will tilt towards Buhari to show loyalty and of course the usual eye service to keep their jobs.
One of them is Kyari whom investigation revealed is always reluctant on issues that need to do with money so as not to step on Buhari’s fighting side.
Disturbed by the plot to blackmail the Chief of Staff, the Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Malam Graba Shehu described a story reported by a national newspaper, that some members of cabinet now sideline Osinbajo as plan work of some extortionists.
He said that the relationship between the president and his vice is intact, calling on the public to be wary of sponsored stories that could breach the unity and peaceful co-existence of the country.
To him, some media outfits are out to make money through false stories without thinking of what damage this can cause the country.
He said that it was untrue and sounded ridiculous to say that some members of staff at the presidency now undermine the position of the vice president.
To him, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo remains the closest member of the cabinet to Buhari.
